Hi! My name is Rosie. I find myself in very good company with David Bowie in the office of a librarian who works at a large community college in the Chicago suburbs.  Bowie and I have become great friends. We’ve been helping our librarian keep up her energy while she promotes open education at her college.  I’ve learned the lyrics to “Changes” and David and I sing it softly in her ear when she starts to feel tired and unsure.

Here’s my favorite part of the song. This is the bit that makes my friend feel better:

I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
And so the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They’re quite aware of what they’re goin’ through…
Ch Ch Ch Changes,
Turn and face the strange Changes. 🙂
